PARAMA NATURALS uses only highly potent plant extracts, which are rich in natural antioxidants, like supercritical CO2 extracts, steam distilled essential oils and cold-pressed natural oils or seed butters. In the firm belief that the skin absorbs all that is applied on it, the ingredients are of the highest quality and pure. Most of them are food-grade (FSSAI certified). All ingredients retain their natural anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals and fatty acids. Each ingredient is a powerhouse with multiple benefits like being preventive, protective, beautifying and therapeutic effects.
The benefits of each of the ingredients are listed in ancient Ayurvedic texts, books on aromatherapy and supported by modern scientific research, and corroborated by users over time.  All ingredients are used in appropriate measures and good proportions, without using any fillers, to ensure efficacy when even a little amount of the product is used. With these ingredients blended in rich formulations, PARAMA NATURALS endeavours to bring back the benefits of ancient traditions and powerhouses of nature, in a range of highly pure, effective and safe products for busy modern lives.

TYPES OF INGREDIENTS

1. SUPERCRITICAL CO2 EXTRACTS Supercritical fluid extraction using carbon-dioxide or CO2-SCFE extraction is a technologically advanced process.  It is considered as the most preferred extraction technology globally for natural extraction of relatively non-polar aromatic compounds. CO2 extracts are approved by the Ayurveda Pharmacoepia and the Ayush Ministry.

  • The flavour and odour profiles of the extracts area as closes possible to the original raw material
  • There is no loss of volatile components during the extraction process. This ensures that the extract is potent in all dimensions
  • The extract retains the character, complexity, delicacy and the freshness, smell and taste close to natural which is most essential for the fragrance, food and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Selective extractions are possible by precisely tuning the extraction process and parameters. This enables keeping out any pesticides or heavy metals during the extraction process
  • The CO2-SCFE process ensures that no harmful solvents, chemicals or chemical residues are present in the extract
  • CO2 is inert and does not react with any of the substrates to form allied products
  • CO2 prevents oxidation of the extract
  • Selective fractionation and extraction of almost all active nodes
  • Suitable for thermally unstable or thermo-labile products

Supercritical CO2 extracts are pure and safe for human consumption with no organic solvents or solvent residues:

  • CO2 is non-toxic
  • No use of organic solvents and no solvent residues which may be harmful for human consumption
  • CO2 contains no inorganic salts or heavy metals
  • CO2 retards microbial/bacterial growth in the extraction process
  • No extraction of the pesticidal substances from primary flora
  • CO2 extracts are approved by the Ayurveda Pharmacoepia and the Ayush Ministry.
  • CO2 is certified as GRAS (Generally Regarded as Safe) as per USFDA
  • CO2 meets California Proposition 65 requirements
  • CO2 is certified as a safe solvent as per the Directive of the European Parliament and Council for food ingredients
  • CO2 is well-accepted by the International Federation of Organic Movement (IFOAM)
  • CO2 is acceptable as a food additive by the Japanese Specifications and Standards for Food and Food Additives

2. STEAM-DISTILLED ESSENTIAL OILS

These are highly concentrated oils that are extracted from plants, usually from the leaves, petals, stems, roots. They are highly volatile and contain many active ingredients and hence are used for aromatherapy, perfumes and natural remedies

3. VIRGIN COLD-PRESSED OILS

Virgin cold-pressed oils (or butters, oils solid at room temperature) from nuts, seeds are extracted from the source material like nuts (almonds, walnuts, peanut, apricot kernel), seeds (sesame, mustard, castor, sunflower seed, pumpkin seed, canola, coconut, kokum, mango seed and flax), or vegetables (olive, corn, soyabean) using a mechanical process that doesn't involve heat or chemicals. This means that the oil is extracted in its purest form, retaining all of its natural nutrients, flavors, and aromas. Virgin cold-pressed oils are usually of higher quality than other oils and are considered more nutritious and flavorful.

4. COLD PRESSED OILS

Cold-pressed oils (or butters) are also extracted using a mechanical process, but they may undergo some heating during the extraction process. This heating is typically low, and the oil is still considered to be of high quality. Cold-pressed oils retain many of their natural nutrients and flavors, making them a popular choice for cooking and health purposes.

5. REFINED OR PROCESSED OILS

Refined oils, are extracted using heat or chemicals, which can alter the flavor, aroma, and nutritional value of the oil. Refined oils are typically processed to remove any impurities, which can result in a more uniform taste and appearance. However, the refining process can also strip the oil of many of its natural nutrients, making it a less healthy option than virgin cold-pressed or cold-pressed oils. Also sometimes, a catalyst or additive in the refining process can remain as a trace or in substantial quantity in the product, which may not a specific desirability of end-use.
